Bee Monday got me started on a whole lot of reminiscences, my dad kept bees for many years and a neighbour used to ask me around when he was taking the honey from his hives, I think I must have been a calm child because he would never let any of his brood anywhere near his hives at that time...plus I love gardening (and I am with Pooh Bear on honey), so bees have always had a role in my life.
On the embroidery front, I have been rather wanting to do some stump work lately, and a bee to fit an inchie sounded a great starting point to return to this long neglected interest, but alas...not this week!
What with two D.T. projects (now both finished), Uni assignments and a son needing rather a lot of assistance in the complex detail of developing a Business Plan (he is about to launch himself as a Sole Trader, yay!), the past week has just been eaten up.
One thing I am personally noticing about increasing age is that I can no longer cope with stress and busy schedules with the ease and zip that I once did...when I think how very busy vast periods of my life have been, and the stresses and challenges that accompanied them and how those combinations of factors simply made me so much more productive, successful and even funnier, certainly more quick witted, I am quite perplexed at the level of anxiety and the sense of being overwhelmed by the workload that I have experienced over the past few days....I am also getting a cold, so that probably added to things in a negative way, but still...another not so gentle reminder of reducing capabilities and potential...ho hum.
Today however was a simply perfect Autumn Sunday...warm, windless and the deepest of blue skies all day. Just as well too as we held a combined garage sale with Sarah and Karina, with Steve and Jodie (our young neighbours)...a fairly successful day for us all as we all reduced our clutter a little and I had a fun day away from the rather demanding schedule that has been so worrying me.
Feta, tomato and chive muffins and coffee kept things moving until a sausage (rather picnic style) lunch accompanied with a new recipe apple and sour cream slice, finally packing up about three o'clock, (I did the food with Chris's help on the barbecue and left the argy bargy to the others!). The storage area is looking a bit less cluttered which is the big plus of the day.
But enough chatter, on with the inchie!
