I was using a small memo book but it became so bulgey and gaping that I knew I had to do something about it. Cat's book fell apart as she made her first few samples, making her use of a binder ring journal quite simple, but my little book was sewn. I thought at first it would be fine, but it just became too ugly for words.
I used a small dishwasher tablet box, some A3 copy paper and a sheet from an old history of fashion design textbook that I have been using in various projects lately. The paper is a good size at almost A3, and a lovely weight and quite robust, so great to use as a cover. I lined the inside covers with a collaged vintage advertisement image I printed from The Graphic Fairy, I am very pleased with the result...it is sturdy and robust, a nice small size and feels good in my hand...all necessary requirements for a handmade journal, I think.
I videoed the process, watch it here, or on you tube, if you are interested...
I have engaged in a couple of YT challenges lately, they have been a lot of fun and I have come across some lovely crafty folk out there in YT land...quite different from card challenges, where other participants seem only to comment (sometimes) when you make a comment to them first...seems much more friendly somehow...also I haven't been making so many cards lately, apart from box cards, as I need to get rid of some of my excess first!
Better trot, bye now,
Di xx
