In my last post I discussed why I have decided not to enter card challenges for the moment...As I was scooting through the last day of the PTI February release blog (their anniversary set, and Yay! I have enough points left to claim this lovely set FOR FREE!), I came across the perfect answer to my inspiration dilemma.
PTI have compiled a list using the alphabet to assist in inspiring one's inspirational lightbulbs...one could certainly make something like this using numerals, days of the week, whatever...but they have already done the hard work for us. By using the alphabet one has a wonderfully long list of prompts. They suggest in the blog to use your name, or part of your name and take the prompts listed beside each of those letters and make a card from the result. I guess that to change things up you could use the name (or part of), or the initials of the recipient, month name abbreviation, etc. (ie Feb.)...whatever springs to mind.
I printed off the list as I could see immediately that it had great potential for stirring my lazy mind into creativity...it's downloadable, so go and grab a copy if you'd like one. (Just click on this link).
Here is the little gift card I made, hardly worth blogging about, I know, but it was the idea of the prompt list I really wanted to share...
The prompts I used were:
1. A - Add a border
2. Y - Incorporate a shade of yellow
3. E - Incorporate an emboss resist technique
4. R - Round some or all of your corners
5. S - Incorporate some stitching, real or faux
That's it! I am looking forward to using this prompt sheet some more and have pinned it to my board in my craft room..
Bye now,
Di
